Sorry I haven't been active in so long. I promise as soon as I get to Fatty's and get my camera back I'll start uploading again.

Burning Man

I'm just going to give you all a quick run down 'cause a WHOLE LOT OF SHIT HAPPENED.

Day 1

We get to Gerlock to meet EJ who never shows up. So we have no I idea where he is or if he's alive so we make the choice to head to the gate and hope that he is there.

We get to the gate at about 1or 2am get in the will call line and then lock Marilyn's keys in her car. And no she didn't have a spare. Luckly the guy behind us had a slim jim and another guy passing by was a locksmith so about 4 mintues later the door was opened and Marilyn had stopped screaming at me. Later .. pouning about a case of beer (cause we've been in the will call lot for about 3 hours now) Fatty and Ryan (Spanky) got to the bathroom and believe it or not find EJ. It turns out he tried to make a three point turn on a small street and put his car in a ditch. He was at the bathroom getting rid of a plastic bag that he had shit in because they wouldn't let him leave his car while in line. Then we were suck in the will call lot till sunrise. Which wasn't that bad. We handed out life savers at sunrise to people in line for breakfast and ran into some awesome Irish guys and it turns out that there are no life saver in Ierland. Me and Marilyn then watched the sunrise on the top of some random guys RV with some people from the little lost penguin camp (who offered us some couches to crash on if EJ didn't show, cause he had all out tents and sleeping bags and such. We just had beer and food. You know the important stuff.) had a smoke and then the line started to move us into Black Rock City.

Day 2.

We set up camp and met these awesome people from Germany. (3 brothers a sister and her fieance.) We actually still send Emails back and forth to them and will be camping with them next year. And then White Out. Fat dust storm. You really could barly see a foot in front of you. Lasted till past sunset. The wind was so fast the Dust actually stung. Elfie ened up having to take Richard back home and the camp all chiped in money to make sure that she could make it back to burn. After the white out we went out danced and got drunk while looking at art and found a random couch to rest on out on the playa.

Day 3

Regular day. Recovered from hangovers by drinking and then went out and partied and got drunk all over again. Elfie showed back up Woot.

Day 4

Same as day three

Day 5

John Breaks his leg. We offerd him a Shot of Jamesons to kill the pain he told us to go to hell and EJ told him to walk it off. Broke both bones in his leg and had to be carted to Reno to have an operation. Me Marilyn and Ally went with him.

Day 6

Still in the hospital with John. His surgery went fine. Ally gets a kidney stone. After she got better me Marilyn and Ally left to see the man burn. Thinking that we weren't going to make it back on time we stopped to take a swim in Pyramid Lake met some awesome people and watched the sun set. Once we got back to the Playa we found out that they had a white out worse then the first day and had to post pone the man burn so we actually were able to see it. We get back to our camp and everyone else was gone. They didn't know what was going on and there was a rumor going around that they might not get to burn the man so they decided to head home. After all there is no cell phone reception so its not like we could get ahold of each other. Lucklly the Germans took us in gave up their beds so we had a place to sleep and even fed us. And I mean FED US. It started with chips and Salsa then a cheese sandwhich then shrimp pot stickers then brie and mustard and then cheese cake and after that they still wanted to know if we wanted more. And they even made sure that nothing had meat in it for me and Marilyn. Which wasnt to hard apperently because their sister turned out to be Veggie as well. They are probably hands down some of THE nicest people I have ever met. Oh and found out that I was no only out of meds but that Elfie's meds were in the back or Ally's car.

Day 7

We leave before the temple burn. We were offered a place to stay and eat by the Germans but we didn't want to take advantage so we packed up and took off.
We visit John on the way out. Me and Marilyn stop for food in Davis and when we get home I have a message from EJ saying he rolled his car on the way back from burn. All/Most of our stuff is in impound but we really only cared that EJ was ok. So we have no idea what survived. And still don't cause the car is in impound. EJ's car rolling is a story in itself so you'll just have to ask him. It would take to long to type even if it was an epic journey. You'll just have to ask him about it.

And after all that we are all still going back next year. With our own theme camp and maybe fire conclave.

I have decided to scower DA for good poetry and prose and pimp it here on my page. (clockworkgoths page not this one)

WHY??

Because writting to me is highly under apericated here on DA. That and alot of the time when I look at the DD's for writting I'm just not that impressed. I KNOW there has to be better writting out there. That and there is only one guy that works on poetry DD's. That and where as photography has like 8 catagories we have 1.

I mean come on guys...
This is an artist community. Art is more than photoraphy, paintings and pretty pictures.

We need to show some more love to those of us that paint pictures with words.

I just had to buy 2 flash drives. Why? Because my didital photography teacher thinks its more effecient to have one turned in and one to stuff more work on.

PAX was awsome however. It made the little nerd in me quite happy. So much gameing goodness. And I got to meet Gabe and Tyco from penny arcade.

Othere than that just amazingly tiered and busy.
